Women’s clothing styles have changed significantly over the decades, from the more modest long dress styling of the 1900’s to the roaring twenties flapper look when women stopped wearing corsets, tight long dresses and hiked up their skirts, to the more figure hugging, longer length dresses to show off your assets 30s, the forties saw the war era when material was rationed for the war effort and styles were based on the utility look, after the war and material was in abundance, clothes we saw in the 1950s were full skirts, slim skirts and tiny waists, the 60s was the birth of the mini skirt, pill box hat, false eyelashes, psychedelic and mismatched prints. Then came the “Me Decade” the 1970s with the mini skirt, bellbottom pants, t-shirts, jeans, sweaters, sneakers and the hippy look. In the 1980s bold neon colors, shoulder pads, shiny jewelry and clothing with sequins and diamantes were all the rage. Clothing styles in the 1990s varied from jelly shoes, overalls, bandanas, bucket hats and scrunches.
